"Wow! There's no other word that better describes a visit to Mala Mala. I've been a guest since '93 and everytime when someone asks how the trip was, the answer has always been 'wow'. From the game viewing to the staff to the service to the accommodations...it's all just one big WOW ....as always. Thanks to everyone who makes it even more special each and every time.". - M.E. "We just wanted to thank you all again for making the Rattrays leg of our honeymoon so enjoyable. We had a fantastic time, and definitely hope to come back again sometime. Apart from the weather(!), everything about our stay was perfect, the food was superb and Ryan did a great job of finding everything we wanted to see (although he still owes us a cheetah and some wild dogs - maybe next time!). Far too many highlights to pick out any one, although meeting a rhino on the bush walk will certainly live long in the memory."

"As a keen wildlife photographer, Africa has long been a place I wanted to visit. When I was presented with an opportunity to visit MalaMala and photograph some of the animals I had only seen in book and documentaries I grabbed it. My visit to MalaMala was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. The camp and facilities are fantastic, the rangers and staff are extremely friendly and knowledgable and the wildlife is litterally on your doorstep. If you have the chance to visit this amazing place I highly recommend it."

"I was privileged to return to Mala Mala in November 7 through 12 of 2008.  We saw many wonderful things with Keenan and Arab.  One of which was the pangolin in one of these photos.  The Sable camp is so quiet and beautiful I felt we were the only guests there.  It is so difficult to choose from the many photos that bring back such wonderful memories but here are a very few of my favorites.  A million thanks for everything!!!"

Thank you Bruce for all your great information and entertainment! Great guide! I took over 400 pics and it was not nearly enough. A few I like are here for you to enjoy. " We were at MalaMala Main in 2004 with a large group of friends, and we began making plans to return with our kids. Our group of 17 returned to MalaMala Main in early August 2008 with our entire families. We watched the heart and soul changing effects of the MalaMala safari unfold on our families and knew we had experienced something very special together. In 2004, we saw the Big 5 every day, sometimes twice a day.

During our 2008 stay, we actually saw the Big 7 - what a thrill! Rangers Matt, Wayne and Gareth were incredible with our group - they left us with lifelong memories, and by the time we left (tears in eyes) they were part of our family. Our daughter said it was the most amazing thing she has ever experienced, and you're changed when you leave MalaMala, but there's no way to adequately describe it to friends back home - it's just something you hold in your heart.

“ Mala Mala was our first visit to an African Game Reserve and it was just wonderful. We could not have hoped for such an exhilarating and close up encounter with the best that Kruger National Park has to offer and our Ranger Benz and Tracker Patrick were fantastic and so skilled at locating the leopards and lions. ”

" Our return visit to MalaMala was to complete a journey of the heart. My heart has been stolen by this land, our lives changed forever. Our Rangers Keenan and Jon opened this world to us with their knowledge, their professionalism, and their passion for the wildlife and what it represents as a land truly untouched by civilization. They are a part of us know...and our group of twelve will be forever grateful. "

"Being on MalaMala was the best experience ever. Excellent game drive, excellent staff, the place is heaven on earth. Special thanks to our ranger Donald, not only a great ranger but a real gentleman, and our tracker Calvin, who found the baby leopard I was dreaming to see. We're planning our next visit to Mala Mala already. Many thanks! " Juliana Bussab

"I was at Rattrays for only 6 days in March. It was supposed to be "the trip of a lifetime" but, as one of my Landrover companions said, "it was not" - as there is no way that I can only make it the one visit! I took a heap of photos but the leopards were my favourite. It was such a privilege to be able to get so close to them and testimony to the wonderful practices that have been developed at Mala Mala over the years."

"It is essential that everyone should cultivate the art of resting in quietness and I could practise it in Mala Mala.I believe that true freedom exists in our minds, but in every moment, true wisdom must be created...MalaMala has some kind of magic! Thanks a lot to our ranger Warren,so gentle and to our tracker Aubrey for making our stay such a remarkable and unforgettable experience!!
We hope to return one day...."
  • Photographs courtesy of Mr and Mrs Brewer from the USA, who were guests of ours at MalaMala Main Camp 20 - 23 January 2008

"We enjoyed another outstanding MalaMala safari.  We wanted to see the endangered wild dogs and our guide, Jamie, put us into the middle of a pack of them.  We enjoyed a major bonus; we watched leopard mating on two separate occasions.  During one occasion we observed two female leopards vying for the male's attention. We were very fortunate to see leopards mating, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity.  Thank you for the experience..That handsome male lion walked next to our Land Rover, Karen could have touched him.  We are looking forward to next year's safari at MalaMala."
  • Photographs courtesy of Mr Muckley and Ms Montgomery from the UK, who were guests of ours at Rattray's on MalaMala 10 - 13 January 2008

"Thank you for our most memorable holiday ever. Rattrays is a truly beautiful place to stay and the game viewing was spectacular (far beyond my wildest expectation). All your staff were welcoming and friendly.  I would like to say a special "thank you" to our Ranger Jonathan and our tracker Colin who were both not only extremely knowledgeable but also personable and great fun to be with. I can't wait to come back!"    Robert Muckley
